Root 6 Sus Chords

By Darren DeFranco

Hey guys,

In today’s lesson we’re going to check out the root 6 sus chords. There’s no easy way to play a root 6 sus2 chord, so we’re going to primarily focus on the root 6 sus 4 chord. There are several ways to do it, so you’ll just have to find the one that works best for you! And as always, sus chords add some real flavor to your playing and sound awesome to mix with regular major chords of the same root, so for example A – Asus4. Try experimenting!

Enjoy the lesson guys! After we learn these new shapes we’ll check out some sweet riffs!

Memorize the new shapes we checked out in this lesson. Then, quiz yourself by being able to identify and play these chords: Asus4, Dsus4, Fsus4.
