G Sus Family

By Darren DeFranco

Hey guys,

We’ve got another sus family to learn, this time it’s the G sus family. The G sus family is a bit more limiting than ones we’ve seen previously because the type of G chord we’re coming from will determine which sus chord is available to us. However, the sus chords are just as beautiful as ever and we really hope you enjoy learning about them.

Enjoy guys!

1) Memorize the G sus chord family.

2) Then, try strumming between G – Gsus2 and then country G – Gsus4.

3) Finally, try taking a common chord progression and subbing a regular G major for a G sus chord. For example, take G – C – Eminor – D and replace the G with a sus chord. Also try making up your own progression!
