Today we’ve got a very cool lesson involving metal ballads. While metal is usually known for its brutal heaviness, occasionally bands will write a softer metal ballad to balance out the harder material. However, there is still a certain darkness in metal ballads that is essential to the style. Today we’ll be looking at using open strings and power chords to create a Metallica style ballad.
