Basic 12 Bar Blues

With the few chords we’ve learned, there are a ton of different styles and songs that we can learn. Today, we’ll be checking out a basic 12 bar blues pattern using our A7, E7, and D7 chords. Don’t worry about what a 12 bar blues even means, for now just understand that it is a structure used for blues music. If you have a buddy who plays, this would be a great song for him to solo over!

 

Try to play this 12 bar blues pattern with good timing – you don’t want to have to stop the music to get to the next chord. Try to master this exercise and you’ll be ready for your next lesson!
