The Blues Group – Black Dog Note

By Eric Hufschmid

Hey guys,

We’re going to continue our study of the blues group by adding in the black dog note to our pentatonic scale. Basically, this note serves as a transition between the b7 and root note. The noted Led Zeppelin song features this note as well as many other riffs from bands like Black Sabbath, Kiss, and more.

Have fun with this new weapon in your soloing arsenal!

The best way to get practice with any new note is improvise over a jam track. So head over to our jam track selection and mess around with the black dog note!
