Bee Gees Style 16th Note Riff

By Darren DeFranco

Who says disco’s dead?

In this lesson we’re going to explore a 70′s style funk riff that uses 16th note strumming. 16th note strumming is essential in creating the groove found in disco and funk, so this will be a good riff to practice your new technique.

Good luck, and have fun!

Take this riff slow and try to master it! Remember, 16th notes get a down up strum, while 8th notes now get al downs and quarter notes get a down and a miss. Everything is doubled for 16th note strumming!
