CAGED Intro
Hey guys,
Welcome to the CAGED system! This is a fairly advanced topic but nothing you guys can’t handle. The basic idea is that we are going to pretend our first finger is a capo and move it around the neck, using our other fingers to play the various open chords, namely C, A, G, E, and D. Thus why it’s called the CAGED system. This will truly let you play any chord anytime and will open up new windows and sounds for your chord playing.

Memorize all of the new CAGED shapes and understand how they relate back to the original open chords they are based off of. Then, try to play the following chords for practice:
1) F major (C shape)
2) B major (high G shape)
3) G major (A shape)
4) Bb (E shape)
5) A major (D shape)
