Time Signatures
Hello again,
In this lesson we’re gonna go back to some fundamentals and this time talk about something called a “time signature.” The basic idea here is that a time tells us how high to count before we start over. Also, it tells us where the emphasis is in a song – usually every 4 or every 3 beats. It might sound a little abstract here but it’s actually a pretty simple concept. If you have any questions, always feel free to ask.
Try creating a few measures of your own and filling them in with different combinations of notes! Try mixing in whole notes, half notes, and quarter notes to fill up the four beats of a 44 measure.
