The Chuck Berry Box Repeated

By Darren DeFranco

Hey GBUers,

In this lesson we’re going to learn about another Chuck Berry box, this one built off of the right side of the root 5 pentatonic scale. However, this box is critical because it allows us to connect the root 5 and root 6 pentatonic scales. Once you get a hang of that, the fretboard will truly become your playground. We’re really excited about this lesson!

Have fun, and good luck.

Really take some time to learn where the Chuck Berry box repeated is and practice using it to transition from the root 5 pentatonic scale to the root 6 scale. And most importantly, practice this using a number of scales. Here are a few to get your started: E minor, C minor, and G minor.
