Stand Apart With Odd Time Signatures
Hey guys,
Today we’ll be working with odd time signatures to give our sound a different flair that will really help us stand out. Bands like Soundgarden have used odd time signatures to create alternative rock riffs that are still radio friendly. In this lesson, we’ll show you how to count these odd time signatures and accent them appropriately.

Try using odd time signatures or even a regular time signature and create your own riffs by counting them in different ways.
Here’s an example: Take a normal 6/8 count but instead of counting it 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 etc, try counting it 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2.
