Same Chord Different Shape Exercise

By Darren DeFranco

Hey guys,

Now that you have a decent grasp of the CAGED system, we’re going to learn a classic exercise to reinforce all of these different shapes. The basic idea here is that we’re going to take a single chord, like B for instance, and play that same chord using all of the different CAGED shapes. It’s certainly a mental challenge but one we know you can do.

Enjoy and do your best guys!

You can really do this exercise to every chord, but we’ll give you a few to get your started. Try C, G, D, A, E, F, and Bb for starters.
