Harmonic Minor Scale

By Darren DeFranco

Hey guys,

Today we’re looking at another key scale for playing blues lead. While not as popular as the blues scale, the harmonic minor scale is still common in Jazz and Latin inspired blues like what Santana would play. The key to this scale is that it has a raised seventh degree, making it the perfect scale to play over a major V chord.

Now let’s get started!

In this lesson we simply want to introduce you to this new scale. Memorize it, and you’ll be good to go.
