F Shape Reggae Chords

By Eric Hufschmid

Hey everybody,

Today we’re going to look at the F shape reggae chord, built off of the top three strings of a standard first position F chord. This shape finds its root on the first string, making it one of the easier reggae chords to play and identify. It’s very common to see this in songs so it’s worth your time to learn!

Have fun, and enjoy the lesson.

Memorize this new shape. Then, quiz yourself by being able to identify and play the following chords using the F shape: A major, C minor, F# major, D minor, E flat major.
