D Shape Reggae Chords

Hey everybody,

In this lesson we’re going to check out our D shape reggae chords, named so because they are derived from an open D chords. You’ll notice that the shape actually remains the same, but it’s simply moved up the neck. This is a very popular shape has a nice, punchy sound. Absorb these shapes like a sponge, because you’ll definitely use them!

First and foremost, memorize these shapes. Then, make sure you can identify the root notes. Finally, try quizzing yourself by being able to play the following chords using the D shape: G major, C major, F major, Bb major.
