The tritone is knows as the meanest, darkest, most dissonant interval in music. As such, metal players have certainly taken a liking to it over the years, mostly starting with hard rock trailblazers Black Sabbath. Simply playing a tritone interval with distortion is all you really need to make something heavy!

Master this riff and also memorize the tritone interval. This one is easy because the second note will always be diagonally away from the first, except when the B string is involved.
