Adding the Blue Note for Extra Carnage
Hey guys,
Today we’re going to build on previous lessons by introducing the blue note on the sixth string. Previously, we looked at how we could use E pentatonics to create riffs (E G A B D). Today, we’ll be adding in the blue note, or Bb. This creates a nice little chromatic run between A and B that we can use to create some heavy riffs.
Enjoy the lesson, and let us know if you have any questions!
Master the examples we showed you and then create five riffs using the blue note. Remember, there are many ways to use the blue note – as a passing tone, going up and then back, coming down and then back, lingering on it – so get creative! Five shouldn’t be too hard!
